Question:

Is there any correlation between a high cortisol level and diabetes?

I recently had an 8 AM/4 PM cortisol test as well as a 24-hour urine. Both tests reported a high cortisol level. I'm a healthy, active vegetarian, and I feel fine (can't lose weight, though-- hence, going in for the cortisol test). My aunt died from diabetes when she was only 45-years-old, and my dad's uncle also suffered from the disease. Maybe I'm just freaking out here, but could my high cortisol level be a result of diabetes? The endocrinologist who I was referred to cannot get me in for six months! I'm really scared.
