for example if I had 10 shares worth $10 that I sold I'd have $100 then if I bought back 10 shares when shares are worth $5 then Id have a profit of $50 correct? no other fees??? Also why go through something like Scott Trade when I can just buy and sell through the company I have shares with????

  2. It's normally somewhere between awkward and impossible to sell shares of listed (NYSE/NASDAQ/etc.) companies without going through a brokerage.

Nearly all brokerages charge a commission (fee) with the exception of some special limited-time deals and Zecco.  And there are of course tradeoffs with using Zecco so you aren't getting a free lunch so to speak.
