  1. First of all, a cactus is a "normal" plant.  It is very unlikely that the chloroplasts in cactus differ markedly from those in other plants.  The main features of photosynthesis (particularly the light-harvesting and electron transport processes) are remarkably similar among higher plant species in most respects.
