  1. Yes, there is a difference but it is a small difference, approximately 3 mm difference.

    Screen sizes in inches refer to the length of the diagonol and not the height.

    There are two common types of screen: 16 x 9 which are the wide screens and 4 x 3 which are the squarish type screens.

    For 16 x 9 screen:

    13.3 inch screen would be 11.5920 inches wide x 6.5205 inches high

    13.1 inch screen would be 11.4176 inches wide x 6.4224 inches high

    For 4 x 3 screen:

    13.3 inch screen would be 10.64 inches wide x 7.98 inches high

    13.1 inch screen would be 10.48 inches wide x 7.86 inches high

    Most likely,  you're talking about a 4 x 3 screen so the difference in height is 0.12 inches or just slightly over 3 millimeters (3 mm).
