can i use the same crossover cable for 100basetx and 1000basetx

  1. No, the cables are different.  See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet_cr... for an example of each.  The good news is that many gigabit network ports do automatic MDI-X, so it's likely that a regular straight-through cable will work when a crossover would be called for.
