Is there any difference in doing cooling by split and window type air conditioner?

i felt that split ac does more cooling then window air conditioner while setting the temperature on same level (at 22 degree) why?

  1. First of all , our sense is not that reliable to judge. use a termometer instead and check the truth of your feeling.

    Second, I don't think that you have both systems in one room, so maybe the type and location of A/C systems are different, for instance, if window a/c located lower than split , its termo switch functions sooner.

    Third , Air distribution is the major difference between split and window air conditioners. while window type has a narrow outlet and blows air in high speed , spotted current, split type uses a wide out going channel and has a slow, laminar air flow . thus, distribution of split type is much more homogenious than window type. Using a window a/c, you may feel warm in a corner and getting cold in another. specially if there is an escape way for the cold air
