Is there any disadvantage to leave your torrent running after it has finished?

I know that when you finish downloading, your torrent seeds to other people downloading to help them download quicker. But is there any disadvantage to you if you help others seed? Otherwise, I don't see why people would stop their torrents once they have finished.

it slows down your internet and pc, it takes much ram for it!

yes but It doesnt slow down your download much. try uploading at 10KB/s if your connection is 25KB/s upload. dont be a leecher and a fish monger(sellfish). At least have a share ratio of 0.5 but its better to have 1 or more. you are able to download because of seeders. Give back the kindness other seeders show to you. Try using halite torrent client and enable its encryption. It will bypass all torrent caps and it uses very little resources
