Is there any distribution of linux server that is visual?

...For example, a distro that isnt coding. Like a distro that looks like windows server 2003. One that there is actually a desktop interface and you can click on icons and so on.

  1. you can get ubuntu desktop and then install the server apps you need.


  2. You could do it two different ways:

    A) 1. Install Ubuntu Server

        2. Install X11 and Gnome using "apt-get install x11" and "apt-get install gnome"

        3. Reboot

        4. Start X11 and gnome, presto, you're done.

    B) 1. Install Ubuntu

        2. Use synaptic to install Apache, Mysql, PHP, or any other server software you want

        3. Remove any extra software to speed it up

    By the way, the thing you described (What you meant by visual) is called a Graphical User Interface, or GUI for short. (Pronounced "Gooey".)

  3. Most Linux Distros come with the option to install the Gnome or KDE GUI environments

    A really easy one to install and use is Fedora 7 which installs with Gnome by default and is not as clunky as some other distros I have used.
