  1. windows movie maker is one of the best choice.

there is a nice tutorial about how to edit video with WMM:

I think it would provide you with something helpful.

  2. You may try AVS Video Editor which has many great functions. The features in the official site are below:

    1. Direct Transfer to iPod, PSP, Mobiles and Other Portable Players

    2. Supports Virtually ALL Video Formats

    3. Burn Movie DVDs

    4. Capture and Edit Video from External Devices

    5. Edit Video and Enhance Your Movies

    6. Create Slide Shows

    7. Make Perfect Audio for Your Video Editing Tasks

    8. Scene Detection

    9. Convenient Video Editing Tools and Interface

There is the free download link:

Also, you can use Photoshop which may be difficult for us:

  3. Windows Movie Maker is now really long in the tooth (a bit like Microsoft's operating systems in fact) and can only really handle clips coming from MiniDV tape cams. Have a go at downloading Pinnacle's free (yes, free) Videospin which is great for newbies and easy to use.

  4. Your computer came with a free vide editing program.

Windows Movie Maker comes with Windows and is a free download from Microsoft.  WMM can handle the most common video editing, titling, and  audio needs, but WMM can only handle standard definition video at this time.  WMM can import most common audio file formats.  If you have a problem with a certain audio file, import it into Windows Media Player, and then import the new imported audio file from WMP into Windows Movie Maker.

iMovie is available in iLife on Apple's Mac computers.  iMovie can handle HD and SD video and has much more capability then WMM.  iMovie links with other Apple software to ensure compatibility of various media formats.  iMovie imports media from iPhoto and iTunes as well as exports movies for burning to DVD in iDVD or to your Movies folder for uploading to the internet.

Both of these programs are designed to capture video from minDV and HDV camcorders via Firewire.  They can also import video from other sources as well, but iMovie is much ore adept at this than WMM.  Other editing programs are also available: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_vid...

  5. If your computer has Windows than try Movie Maker: it should come with your system.
