Is there any easy way to move music files and still have itunes recognize them?

I do not have itunes manage my music with its music folder or whatever. Rather i have my music spread out among a couple of categorized folders in my documents. How can i move the music files and /or change the name of the files without itunes being all stupid and not recognizing it afterwards? (I hate having to constantly re-find the file.... why can't apple/itunes make an easy fix for this, it seems like such a basic thing for what they have now adays....)

Once again, i know apple explains how to move the ITUNES MUSIC FOLDER, but i like using my own folders, so what can i do?/or has itunes /apple been to stupid up to this point to make and easy fix for this?

  1. Sorry but the iTunes software is designed to make you dependent on it so unless you do the refind business it will nag you but then any program even Windows itself will get upset if you move or change files without the proper protocols so just like at home, if you move or change something that others need to know where it is, you should tell them or you will get nagged to death.lol.
