Is there any easy way to travel between UVA and Virginia Tech, besides a car and Home Ride?

No. There is no train service to Blacksburg, so your only option is to drive.

Unfortunately there is NO EASY WAY so if I were in Your Shoes, I would post frequently on CRAIGLIST under Community then "RIDESHARE" both in Blacksburg and Charlottesville.  

Of course keeping a get-away bag packed in advance helps, but 2 other more important tips are: (i) offering extra cash$ to share for gas might result in being selected a rider on frequent basis by fellow students with cars on campus...and (ii) being flexible to the driver's schedule knowing he/she has the leverage and that they are the ones doing you the favor which you demonstrate your appreciation by cooperation!
