Is there any evidence that crop circles occur more frequently during winter months?

If it's pranksters, they would probably take advantage of the longer nights during the winter. Do you have any information on this? Has this been looked into?

  1. stop it

    CROP CIRCLES ARE REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plants don't grow in the winter; it's too cold

  2. I will have to disagree with Red Heron, crop circles are not a natural phenomena, it is just not possible for nature to produce such extravagant patterns.

My money is on a bunch of people laughing their *** off at how their art is taken as serious as some take them. If I lived in the boonies, I guarantee you my friends and I would have attempted this after all the bars closed. Deciding between initial entertainment or day after public reactions would be almost impossible.

  3. You won't find any crop circles in the winter because all of the fields have been plowed already.

Unless you count Donald Trump's hair.......that looks like a crop swirly.

  4. My guess is that it's done whenever the crop flattens out the best regardless of what season it is.

Circles per month in 2004 with June and July being the favorites.

Also what countries they occurred in, it seems that aliens prefer Britain.

  5. I would tend to think that crop circles can't possibly occur in the winter, since there aren't crops growing. And so far, no mysterious circles in the snow.

Having lived near where at least two crop circles have appeared, I can attest that there is definitely unknown science at work, though I'm not in favor of the idea that it's done by aliens or people with interesting machines. I have seen how the stalks bend, and I also saw first thing in the morning that there were no trails to or from the crop circle before everyone came out to look.

When people have tried it, the pattern doesn't match, or the stalks are broken (rather than being bent at a swollen joint), or both. I have yet to see a perfectly-formed crop circle made by human hands.

This means the most likely explanation is an unknown natural phenomenon, rather than aliens with a penchant for hypnotizing grains.
