"it doesn't matter how employees say they feel about their employers. what really matter in terms of behaviour is whether they have better options out there." Is there any evidence to support or refute this statement?

  1. The evidence would be in the turn-over of workers in a business place. No matter how much they said they liked working there, if another option came along, like another job, would they take it?

An employee turn-over rate would be some pretty good evidence either way.
