  1. Doubtful.  Exchange programs take a lot of work.  To get into them takes months of work, and when you get in it's for a semester or more.  On top of that, they are usually for college students.

  2. Sure there are just go to your guidance counselor at your school and see what they have to offer. It generally costs alot of money but some places have scholarships that you can get if your grades are good enough. Last year we were host family to a boy from France for a month and it was great. He used the Nacel program but I am not sure if they do Ireland or not.

  3. No.

For one, any reliable exchange program requires you to be at least 15 (you can find a list of those certified to operate in the US at www.csiet.ort).

Second, exchange programs are usually summer, semester or year.

You're better off waiting a while and taking a full year exchange to a place where you'll get language immersion -- one of the biggest benefits of an exchange year.

One thing Nikki said was wrong -- they are NOT usually for college students. Thousands of high school students go on exchanges every year!
