Is there any excuse for this?

If you ask someone something and their response hurts you and you tell them how you feel about it, is there any excuse for them to tell you that if you don't like what I say to you, whether it's the truth or not, than don't ask me? I get that defensive excuse from people like that a lot.

  1. There are many people who have no idea of how to talk to others anymore.  They come across as egocentric and think that if it is important enough for them to take the time to say it, you should be grateful no matter what it is.  Respect and kindness have taken a backseat in today's society.  Constructive criticism is a skill worth learning but so many people would just rather mouth off because they think they are entitled to do so.  I would avoid asking their opinions, I am sorry for the hurt you have received.

  2. Well, there sort of is an excuse. See you asked. And not every1 in the world is kind. There a some down right you know whats. If you know a person acts like that I suggest that you shouldn't ask. So the answer to your question is that there kinda is an excuse.

  3. No they are all low-down ugly pigs.

  4. its true that u shouldnt ask a question unless your prepared for the truth, but maybe u could tell them to answer in a nicer way

  5. Unfortunately you don't always get the anwer you want when you ask somebody to tell the truth. Don't let it bother you if possible, but if it does bother you speak about it with that person.

  6. Yes, if you are going to ask something you should be prepared for an opinion other than yours and not be so touchy about the response you recieve.

  7. I feel you!

Some of them get mad that I told them the truth that their responded was hurt me but they don't care.

    then I ignore them.

  8. Well, sure there are "excuses," but is that really relevant?  The question is whether or not you should take treatment that hurts you regardless of the reasons for the behavior.  Our youth is about deciding what our boundaries are.  Our adulthood is about enforcing the boundaries.
