I'm in Russia right now and my passport will expire on May next year and my Russian visa will expire on December this year and they will issue a new one but of course passport should be at least six months valid and I'm going for a holiday and be back in Philippines this July so I'm thinking of getting now a new passport but then what will I do with my Russian visa in my old passport in case I'm going to have a new passport. Will they transfer my russian visa to my new passport or what?

What a very complicated problem!!!

  1. All you need to do is get a new valid passport and just carry and use 2 passports; new one for ID and passport purpose, such as getting a new visa, and the old one for your Russian Visa until valid.

p.s. I'm not Filipino though, but it worked for me.

  2. they will staple your old passport to your new one. so you'll be carrying 2 passports because of the russian visa.

i had a 10 yr multiple entry tourist visa in the US. i had to renew my passport. when i did, my old passport was stapled to my new passport

  3. hot chick is right. they staple your old passport behind your new one. if they don't, you can do it yourself coz they give you the old one.

when i had my passport renewed the first time, they stapled it. when i had it renewed the second time, they didn't so i did it. i've been traveling with 3 passports all the time.
