Is there any financial assistance for canadians in the U.S.?

First of all, welcome to America.

The best financial assistance for any college is a job that provides tuition reimbursement as an employee benefit. Many companies offer this to part-time employees, and I'm speaking from experience. Where you go to school at is of no concern, so I'd recommend a community college to either learn a trade, pick up an AS degree in a variety of field. At the very least, earn your 2 year transfer degree that you can then go on to a University as a junior. Hopefully you'll do this by paying cash for your education via your paycheck and tuition assistance from your employer. Check out Target or UPS for starters.

It may sound appealing to take out student loans, but please consider the consequences of going into debt.
