Is there any financial attribution to the medals at the OLYMPICS? ?

Do those sports men get any remuneration from the Olympics based on their performances be it from the organising country or from the Olympic Committee?

  1. None from the organising country (except to their own medalists) or the IOC. Usually their own country might provide some financial rewards.

    In Afghanistan a rich business man was going to pay $50000 per medal or something like that.

    Australian swimmers at past olympics have been given cars by holden (GMH)

  3. Both actually. They get at least US$30,000 for winning a gold medal in the olympics. This IS from the organizers of the event and/or the IOC. They will also get some kind of reward from their own country.
