If you are a cat lover and want a unique treasure from Rome, go to the Largo Argentina and you will find a set of ruins.  If you go around to the side closest to the bus pickups, you will see a staircase going down into the Torre Argentina cat santuary.  They have several unique items and you can visit the cats that live there too.

Porta Portese flea market and MAS in Piazza Vittorio, which sells clothing and housewares at incredibly low prices, varying from ugly but interesting to very ugly. I love it.
