  1. If you have to ask this question then why the heck are you going to Cuba, its an amazingly clean country, the food is wonderful as are the people, I have been to Cuba several times and there is absolutely nothing wrong with their food, its fresher than ours for a start off, I really wish people would stop blaming the food for jippy tummies, its the amount of alcohol they consume that causes the problems abroad and not the food.

  2. The trouble with not only Cuba but many poor countries is that the salads, tomatoes etc are handled many times and never washed. So coming from Europe or North America  our bodies are not expecting to receive great doses of bacteria that locally they have a resistance to. If you want to avoid the runs buy your fruit and salads at the market, and go and wash them well. If you eat out choose something being cooked in front of you  ie a kebab being charcoaled grilled, or fish being fried. The cooking destroys the bacteria.

  3. No. I've been and nothing stood out as "dangerous"

A lot of it is fantastically bland, I've never eaten so much boring food!

However, if you eat African rather than Spanish food you'll find a lot more flavour.

Take advantage of the cheap seafood and rum!

Have fun, it's an amazing country
