Is there any food ordrink that visitors should aviod while in Colombia?

Most of Colombia has pretty decent hygiene standards, especially where tourists would go or decent parts of cities.  The food is not great tasting - the cuisine is mediocre considering how good it is in the southern part of South America, but will not get you sick.

In some places you must avoid drinking the water that comes out of the faucets.

Also, vegetables and fruit should be washed before eating them. Preferably using soap.

Do not eat anything that's made with water that wasn't boiled before: for example, a home made popsicle that's very popular. Those are probably made with water from the faucet.

You can eat ice cream that is made in a factory. You'll recognize it because it comes packed in boxes or wrapped in paper with all the information on them.

Any kind of processed food (e.g. canned food) is good.

All cooked food is ok. Restaurants have to meet Ministry of Health standards and have standard cooking procedures.

Don't go to little cheap restaurants.

People from the tropics have developed body defenses against the bacteria that comes in some types of food and they can almost eat anything. People from other countries usually do not have those defenses and they can get sick.

NO! well maybe not too much Alcohol. The food is the BEST same goes for drinks. But if your on a diet there it goes down the garbage lol

I have lived in Colombia all my live. The last seven years I have drunk water from the faucet and I haven’t got any problem. (I go to the doctor once a year only to check and he does not found any bacterial or problem).

Some years ago our water department showed a TV advertise saying you can drink water from the faucet
