Is there any free higher education for foreign students in european countries?

  1. Everyone wants something for free, but to want something for free from a 'foreign' country defies belief.


  2. When you say, "foreign students", I assume you don't mean EU, correct? You're from North America?

    To my understanding, there are some countries where, if you can speak the local language fluently and take all your courses in that local language, and can pass the university entrance requirements, studying is low cost or free of actual tuition, even if you are from overseas. I believe that the Czech Republic is like this, as is Bulgaria, the Ukraine, Iceland, and perhaps I remember Greece. However, if you plan to get that degree and try to use it in the US, know that degrees from some (or all) of the unis in some of these countries are not considered the equivalent to those in the US, and there may be issues. Bulgaria is one example of that. So do lots of research before you commit.

    I think, in some Icelandic unis, you can do your first year at uni in English, paying fees, and after that you must do it in Icelandic.
