My 4-year-old daughter can write and read alphabets.

But she is having trouble in phonics and spelling...

Do you know any good sites (online games type) where she can learn?

I'm kinda looking for sites similar to "Super! Why" of PBSKIDS.

  1. There's a good book called Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons.   I know it's not a website but it's a good start.  Jump Start has some good computer programs. http://shop.knowledgeadventure.com/Depar...

  2. starfall

  3. Starfall.com has already been recommend, so I will give you some other ideas. First of all at this age, it is better to let them sound things out and use their own version of spelling. So for example, if she tries to spell out "dogs" and spells "dgs", praise her effort and encourage her to try other words as well. This is to get them used to sounding things out and will help them become comfortable and confident with stringing letters together. Use a cookie sheet and magnetic letters, and let her start out by learning how to spell her name. Then she can move on to other members of the family, etc. At this age you can just have fun with it and make it as hands on as it can be.

  4. www.starfall.com is an excellent reading web site.  Also try the video or DVD "Word Factory" from LeapFrog.  It shows how to put letters together to form words in a very cute, catchy format.

  5. umm i dont know of any but i just wanted to say i love ur avatar !!!

  6. Fun with Phonics on Cbeebies (www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies) might have something interactive.

My daughter is reading 'Songbirds' books at school which I find very helpful.

In the school holidays I am going to buy something similar ' Floppy Phonics' books to practise over the summer so she will still be in the routine when she gets back.
