Can you give an example if you can find one? If a good deed makes you feel good do you consider that unselfish? Are all good deeds done only for the one in need or both the giver and receiver. I can't come up with one good deed that isn't a lttle unselfish.

  1. yes there are good deeds that are unselfish. I think itwas a guy in New York he jumped down on a man who had a seziure on the moving Tram (or whatever they call thosetrains that transport people in a big city). He laid on top of that guy he did not know. He had no time to think and he was lucky he did not die. He did it infront of his small little girl. Most people probably do deeds for there own gain of sometype. But there are some true heros!!!!

  2. Sure.

We've heard of those soldiers who jump on grenades in order to save their buddies.

In the everyday world of people making choices of doing good deeds for others there is probably a motivation of "picking up the litter and throwing it away properly" makes me feel good, doing the right thing, and maybe someone will see me and think better of me (or maybe i will influence them to do better).

Is that selfish?  Is that bad?

    I don't think so.

    I'd say it's human.

I say do what you know is right and leave the analysis to your biographer.

  3. Selflessness motivates many acts of heroism.

As life is precious, there are those who will move to protect it without any thought to their own risk.

Many good deeds are done without selfish motives.
