  1. Check out the Disney website.  They have some great deals on wedding packages, including honeymoons.  Some friends of mine got married there, at the Polynesian, right on the beach, overlooking the Seven Seas lagoon with Cinderella's castle in the background.  The pictures and video was amazing.  I myself went there on my honeymoon 15 years ago, they take great care of their newlyweds.

I would call the Disney cast members and talk to them.  They are trained to help and give you the best bang for your buck. Contrary to popular belief Disney keeps all the best discounts for themselves, so book anything straight thru Disney.

If you want some great info check out the disboards.  The disboards is a free message boards type website all about going to Disney.  You can get advice from people who have actually gotten married at Disney, including tips and tricks and much more.  I put the link below.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Disney does a whole lot of weddings - but as the previous poster states, they aren't cheap, they require a lot of planning and there is a huge wait.  If you are looking at getting married in Orlando immediately after you propose (or within the same trip) you do have some options.  We aren't quite on the same level as Vegas yet - but we do have our share of "Little White Chapels".  I think they start out as cheap as $125 (valentines special at the Stay Happy) and go up from there...

Here are a few - and some of them offer some cool stuff (like helicopter rides)

Good luck to yah!  Oh, and pick out somewhere really special to propose - like in front of the castle or at the top of Splash Mountain.  Someplace really memorable!

And if you are really set on getting married at Disney (but don't want to wait forever or pay out the nose) come back and bring your own minister or notary and buy them a ticket.  Then just stand in the middle of Main Street (or where ever you choose) and do it!  By the time they figure out what you are doing, it'll be too late - just don't expect to have a boat load of guest or wear the fancy clothing - it'll be a dead give away, haha.

*** Also (yeah, I know - I just keep going on and on)  at any character dinner, if you can make arrangements with Guest Services before to get one of the characters involved.  Like having Mickey deliver the ring or something - how cool would that be!

Did you know they can change Abe Lincolns speech in the Hall of Presidents to pop the question?  How cute is that?  Ok, I have to quit looking up ideas of you and go back to work - not nearly as much fun, haha.

  3. the grand floridian hotel is the only place u can get married and its reallllllllllllyyyyyy expensive u have to garenty a certain number of rooms booked for a certain number of days and that is the most expensive hotel at disney and u have to book pretty far in advanced

  4. If you want to get married in Disney World (at the actual park or Disney resorts), be prepared to spend at LEAST $50,000 for the wedding. I saw a show on the Travel Channel about Disney World Weddings and they averaged around $125,000. And there is like a 2 year wait list. It would be much cheaper and easier to get married at a pretty church or garden than at Disney World itself. You also have to think about the weather though. Being from FL, I speak from experience. Winter is the nicest time to get married (maybe even late fall)-- low number of tourists, cooler weather (50's at night, upper 60's in the day), least amount of rain. If you get married in the summer, you're risking with hurricane season. If you get married in Spring, you've got all the "spring breakers" crowding every place. And then you have to think of all your guests-- Are they from Orlando? Will they make the trip? Etc.

My advice is to propose to her at Disney world (my personal 3rd favorite place on earth) and then get married in your hometown. More people will come (which means more gifts for you haha). It will be SO MUCH less stressful on everyone. And it will be a heck of a lot cheaper. I hate when people (who can't afford it) go into debt for a zillion dollar wedding, forgetting that it's only one day. Having a celebrity style wedding does not make your marriage any easier. For many people, it makes the marriage that much harder b/c of all the debt you incurred for the wedding. Use that money on your honeymoon and to buy a house with. That's just my advice (a married woman from FL).

  6. There is some great info at http://www.mouseweddings.com/ from the mousesavers.com people.

  7. I got married at disney and stayed in the beach club there were 5 of us with the dining plan with park tickets (only disney though) we were £20,000 so where the woman gets $50,000 god knows.

we got married in the wedding pavilion which was great the back drop was the castle.

in or wedding pack we had the limo, wedding coordinator , piano player, violin player, cake, photo's, the grand floridian terrace and a few wedding "gifts" from disney (u prob pay for them lol).

we never got a vid because it was expensive as was the character's from about $300 for UP TO 30 min which was a rip off.

you need to get a wedding licence from the court you dont need to be there a length of time but book the wedding near the end of the week so u can get every thing sorted.

there are other places at disney you can get married in which would make it cheaper.

i booked mine in the dec and was married in the aug which was not a long time.

the comment from hanna is not true the wedding pavilion is next to the grand floridian but you can get married at about 3 or 4 other places ie the boardwalk and the beach club ect.

  8. I am from the UK - I am going to my friend's wedding at the Swan and Dolphin resort in November this year - the wedding has been booked through Virgin holidays and has only cost something in the region of £4,000 including their hotel. It really can be as cheap or as expensive as you want, it's up to you.

I can recommend Virgin, I have done all the arrangements for the wedding couple and have found the Virgin staff to be very helpful.
