I would like to learn the French language and really want to stay in not big city. I have been to Toulouse but felt it might be still big for me to learn French in France. Is there any good university in small city or town of France?

Thanks for your help.

  1. Montpellier is still too big. You cannot find better than Annecy. And I believe there is not nicer town with nicer surrounding.

  2. I would recommend Chambery, in Savoie. It is close to Annecy, the Alps and not a big city.

  3. Hi

    check out Montpellier.

  4. There are several...

Annecy if you like being near the Alps,

    Avignon on the Rhone river

Aix en Provence, a lovely small city in Provence

There are 5 in cities in Brittany:

    Brest, Lorient, Vannes, Rennes 1 & Rennes2

go to this website for the full list, and take your pick of region and city...

  5. You can learn the French language in a city of any size.  BTW, you might want to work on your English grammar, too.
