  1. You should avoid teas with Jasmine flavoring. I would think that green tea and Jasmine would be a better flavor fit than black tea with Jasmine flavoring. You want a real green tea with real Jasmine blossoms. Since the main ingredient is green tea you will experience all the traditional good benefits of green tea and have the added taste of Jasmine. Silver Leaf Tea Company's Jasmine Monkey King Tea is a great green tea with delicate white jasmine blossoms.

WikiAnswers had this to say about it....

Since Jasmine tea is basically Green or Oolong tea as a base with Jasmine included to enhance the smell and taste of the tea. For this reason the heatlh benefits would be based primarily with the underlying tea used. For more information see the related questions:

It is one of hype that various scented teas acts like aroma therapy. Actually one is wasting their money by buying these sort of hyped tea. Chinese believe these tea keep you slim. There is no scientific evidence for that. Most chinese are slim because of their food habit. They do serve these teas before food in restuarants. Probably the hot water in the tea is more beneficial

    ~ Sunburn?:

Dr. Kunin advises that green tea's main antioxidant, EGCG, reduces pain and inflammation. Brew green tea, chill it (an important step!), then apply the tea to your sunburn with a washcloth. (Green Japan Cherry will make you smell the best!)

~ The soothing scent of jasmine:

In a recent Japanese study, researchers tested the aroma of jasmine tea on 24 healthy volunteers to see what effect it may have on mood. Compared to measurements made before exposure to jasmine tea, after 5 minutes of inhalation at the lowest perceived concentration, the mood of the volunteers was calmed and their heart rates slowed. (I may start keeping a jar of Jasmine Yin Hao on my desk just to sniff!) Eur J Appl Physiol, June 23, 2005.

Summer Tea Recipe - Colada Cooler

Chill out with this tropical twist on tea! I was experimenting, so the recipe is approximate and will accept alterations easily:

--> Brew about 1 oz. of  Pina Colada tea for 10 minutes in 10-12 oz. of freshly boiled water, then chill. (Other fruity teas would probably be fine, too.)

--> Put tea in a blender and add about 1/2 cup of chilled coconut milk (or vanilla ice cream), 1/2 cup chilled crushed pineapple, and one frozen banana, chopped. (Watch your fingers!)

--> Blend until smooth - it will be a gorgeous purple color! (A dash of rum might be good!)

--> Makes about 4 servings - looks pretty in wine glasses. Tons of flavor, no added sugar!!

  3. the same benefits of black tea.  tea contains EGCG to prevent some illnesses and antioxidants to fight against free radicals in your body.  Jasmin tea is just black tea that's been flavored with the jasmin flower.  but drink it for the flavor and aroma, not only the health benefits.  You'll enjoy it more.
