Is there any help for my mini-fridge?

I have an old mini-fridge and the freezer part doesn't work right so it is always dripping water everywhere and making messes. Is there anyway to disconnect the freezer part and still keep the fridge part working? I don't want to buy a new one because I have a bunch of stickers on it and I don't want to have to start over.

  1. Does it have the tray under the freezer section that is supposed to catch the dripping water?

  2. Where is the water coming from? If it just defrosting itself, it probably has a drain for the water that has become plugged. Find the drain and the tray in the bottom that is supposed to catch it, then remove the tray. Make sure the drain is clear by forcing air and warm water down it (use a turkey baster, for instance) and follow that with bleach water once the drain is clear. That will kill any mold, etc., that is clogging the drain. This will be a big mess, but should take care of it.

  3. might sound silly but what about a hammer and smash it open (:

  4. you probably have a bad sealing gasket. that's the rubber gasket that surrounds the freezer part of the fridge.  air is getting into the freezer and acting like a defroster.

REPLACE THE SEAL, would be my guess. check also to see if the freezer has it's own thermostat and make sure it's set at the coldest spot, if you have one.

    good luck to ya
