  1. pumpkin seeds in the shell, wash and roast them, peas in the shell, broccoli. If you do that you'll add insoluble fiber in the diet.

    Also, did you know that "holding" the urge to pooh is a major contributing factor to constipation? Try to go when you have the urge. Don't forget to drink your water.

    When people add over the counter fiber supplements they forget to drink water. If you don't have adequate water while on fiber supplements they can actually make constipation worse. That's why I get people to fix the problem with food first.

  2. Drink warm water first thing in the morning and do these exercises.Build up your timing slowly and after two weeks at the suggested duration you will start to notice benefits  -easy movement in the morning..

    Bhastrika - Take a long deep breath into the lungs(chest not tummy) via the nose and then completely breathe out through the nose.Duration upto 5 minutes.

    Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for upto 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

  3. Eat plenty of raw fibrous vegetables: (at least two cups daily) carrots, celery and cauliflower work best.  They'll clean you out as you sleep, and you'll go in the morning with no difficulty.

  4. Take 800mg or more magnesium capsules, or just get Milk of Magnesia (magnesium) at bedtime.  It is one of the safest things to take.  Many herbs will make your bowls lazy if you take them for long periods of time.

  5. Stewed prunes, stewed rhubarb.or exercise your stomach muscles.
