Ok when I was 12 I had a Brain tumor. Due to it being wrapped around my spinal cord, It had to be removed 8 times. After the 8th surgery, God healed me. I have a learning disability I want to go to college but I never took the ACT or SAT test. I did graduate. My question is do colleges offer special help for those who have learning disabities. I am now 28. Please if you can't say something nice don't comment, I already suffer low self esteem.

  1. Number one:  Get rid of the low self esteem.  From your note itself, it is quite evident that you are a fighter.  How many people do you know had 8 surgeries and have an ambition to go on.

Two:  Learning disability is a diagnosis.  Dont see it as a handicap.  Get your mind on what you want to do and get it done.  Some people learn things with one reading, some others may need to read ten times.  The final result is the same, they both know it at the end.

My friend, you said God healed you.   You definitely have the potential, you just need to find it.  Good luck.

  2. You definitely can do it.

If you went through 9 surgeries and at such a young age, you can preserve. What ever you set your mind to, you can. You just really need to believe in yourself. Yes, you might go through some obstacles but that shouldn't hold you back. Your strong and can become stronger, maybe take along a friend or a loved one to help you boast your confidence.

Until then ask around, I'm sure colleges will have something for you and alot of support.

  3. Hope this helps
