  1. Yes, there is considerable hope and for good reasons but development does not occur overnight or very fast. The international agencies, some voluntary agencies and some advanced countries are spending enough money and making lot of efforts towards the Sub-Saharan Africa's region economic and social development. The local people are responding. Mor money and more efforts are not going to speed up the process. Socio-economic changes take considerable time: education, health and food will over time crate a strong base of locals who will help lift the others in the region. Forcing the pace of development may become unproductive, rather counter productive. Centuries of darkness cannot be wished away and dazzling light may disrupt the process. Honesty may replace corruption, spread of education and knowledge may be constrained by socialistic/ communist/ terrorist dictatorial attitudes. But despite all this - even at a slow pace development will occur at a natural, holistic process. We need not shout and become impatient to speed the process of development.
