Is there any insurance company in arkansas that will let a 16 year old sign a policy contract?

i have tried everywhere to find my own insurance but no companies will let me unless i was emancipated

  1. It is a legal issue. You can't sign a contract because you are still a minor.  

    You can't vote, you can't buy liquor or cigarettes or p**n. You can't go off to war, you can't sign a contract.


  2. As everyone else has said, you cannot legally enter in to a contract as a minor.  You are much better off being insured on your parent's/gaurdian's policy anyways because it is much cheaper that way for you.

  3. A 16 year old cannot legally sign any contract, because until you are considered an adult (18), you cannot be held to the terms of a contract. Sorry.

  4. nope; you also can't have the title put in your name until you are 18...the insurance policy can only be written in the person's name that the title is in...whoever that is CAN start a policy and list you as a driver, they can also exclude themselves if they wanted to.

  5. No. Federal Law only holds people over the age of 18 legally bound by contracts, which means you can back out at any time.
