  1. Bar work is all you will get and that will be long hours with very hard work. You will have to work 7 days a week to survive. As you are slaving away everyone else will be enjoying themselves. Having said that, if you are not Spanish you may be too young to work in a bar and sell alcohol.

You are only 16. The advice would be to concentrate on a career and save for the future. You have a long life ahead of you to do other things like this.

I live in Málaga and do know what I'm talking about. You will have to live here whilst you work. Bar work will not pay your accommodation let alone anything else you need to live on.

  2. I guess you can work at a Hotel, as a barman, or making the beds, cleaning dishes or as an tourist entertainer.

You can work in a bar or pub too.

  3. I don't think a bar would offer work to a 16 year old since the legal drinking age is 18 years old and especially if they didn't speak Spanish for the few Spanish customers they may have. Plus, 16-year olds tend to quit quickly/easily because this is hard work.

More important questions for you are:

    1) Are you legally able to work in Spain?

    2) Do you speak Spanish?

If you're English (and I'm making of long leap of assumption here since you hope to spend summer on the Costa del Sol), you are legally able to work but I imagine you're hoping for a cash job, right? What kinds of skills do you have? If you're female (I know, it's a sexist angle but a realistic one in this case) you might do well offering a babysitting service if you've done this before. LOTS of Brits would probably prefer having a 16 year old British girl babysit for their children while they're off bar hopping or out to dinner. Hard thing would be to get started, finding that first client. Once you find one and get that first job - and do well - you'll likely get passed from one family to another by word of mouth with plenty of work all summer.

Since you're 16, I don't suppose you're traveling around on your own but probably with your parents. Where will you be staying?

You might try making a location-specific posting offering your services on Craig's List.
