  1. Are you a slave??  Are you oppressed??  For goodness sakes... get over it!  There is a very good possibility a black man will be our next president... what more do you want??  You can be anything you want to be.  Even oppressed.

  2. If blacks can do it , why not everyone else who's been oppressed or persecuted .... Which would be just about every group that's immigrated here since the American revolution , plus the native Americans .

I know for a fact that my ancestors didn't own slaves ... My family is of French heritage from Canada .

So  , I don't want my money going to the ancestors of black slaves as retribution , since my people owe blacks nothing .

What you need to do is let the past go and get on with the future.

  3. If you can find an ex-slave that can prove he or she was harmed, go for it.

  4. Didn't someone already do that? What a ridiculous money grabbing world we have created. No stone is left unturned. I might sue Tesco because the cashier didn't smile at me today......................................

  5. unless somebody was holding you hostage and making you there slave then please dont even try it, you have no right to be the one who is sueing them

  6. How can you sue for something that didn't happen to you?  How can you sue for something that was not in your lifetime?

There are lots of things that happen that shouldn't have happened.  What you can do is be the best person you can be toward others, no matter what nationality you or anyone else are.

I know that things like that happen to an extent even now, but unless you are involved, there is no way you can sue for people you don't know.  You can raise awareness of what you believe that is happening in the here and now that is not right.

There are a lot of people in this country and you since you can't isolate an exact incidence, I doubt that you can do that.

Bad things happen all the time to different people, ie... kids being sold for money to be slaves or worse.  You can fight for what is right, and you can make others aware of the wrongs and try to make them right.

  7. why stop there, let's go back and sue the jews and romans for jesus's death.

this is insane, do you ever let anything go?  is there a point where you say "ok, everyone who was involved is dead, everyone of their parents  is dead, everyone of their grandparents is dead.  how many generations do you carry it on?

you are one of the many cogs that is truly responsible for the racism present today, because YOU are still alive, and YOU are still promoting it.

  8. you are about 200 years late for that lol... the civil war pretty much ended that whole issue lol

  9. If you are so unhappy with your life in America, why not move to Africa? Give it a try and see which country you like better. You may like Africa more or you may like America more. Before thinking of suing this country for the sh*tty thing it did in the past, maybe you should think of the opportunities that came about because of it. Not only of the chances you now have but for all americans as well (white, black, hispanic, disabled, the elderly, etc). While I think that slavery is horrific and it is shameful that the U.S. ever performed such an act, I am thankful for the changes that were brought about by the ancestors of some of those unfortunate people who were forced to be slaves. MLK Jr, Malcom X, Harriet Tubman, etc., they taught people to be more accepting of others and inspired people to make changes that rippled through history. Their teachings didn't just affect equality rights, they affected human rights. They didn't just teach equality, they taught humanity and this country and it's people became better for it.

You should also consider that you (and all African Americans) have rights that Africans don't have. If your gun-ho about the plight of Africans, then study up on international politics and fight to help to make changes for Africans. If you're looking for payback, then open your mind to the good that came out of that terrible time. I'm not saying to forget, but at least forgive. Be thankful that "you" have never, and will never, have to face your ancestors pains and that their loses eventually evolved to become your gains.

  10. um no thats stupid because ud be blaming other people who had nothing todo with slavery whichj is stupid so youd rather have other people who hadnt done anything to anyone pay the price???

wow, paybacks a ***** isnt it????

now thats not fair is it?

  11. Yes, it has been tried. Not in the sense of a lawsuit but certainly requests for a formal, official apology on the part of the White House and some sort of compensation.

But it really doesn't work that way. Nowadays they've even downed "affirmative action" programmes on the grounds of reverse discrimination.

Besides, if they tried financial compensation, even giving one cent to each African American descendant of slaves would probably break the bank.

You need to get a new hobby that doesn't involve Y!A. Your questions are getting more and more bizarre.

  12. ha, you wish you could get money that easily.
