  1. Pavers need to be laid on a proper level base.  Then you brush material over top of it that falls into the cracks and that helps hold them in place!

  2. Once the topping sand has filled in the joints, they are OK

  3. i assume you mean after installation once a year i brush dead sand about four bucks a 50 lb bag  on top of the pavers

  4. On that note: I have to ask what part of the country are you in?.

If you live in an area with sever winters and freeze thaw pavers may not be a economical solution. On the flip side if your in a more weather friendly environment they make a nice addition.

A viable alternative would be concrete/asphalt.The down side of asphalt is constant sealing and extremely hot areas it's possible for tires to sink a bit.

Concrete is also a great choice.A word of advice here.Make sure contractor uses more than enough re enforcement and pours to commercial spec's and you will have a long lasting drive.

  5. Agree with Emily-thats the way to go or you can pour a concret mixture and fill em in-much more work but good curb appeal effect in the end..but the sand topper is the most used.
