Is there any mascara that can keep my eyelashes from chipping?

I have naturally long eyelashes, but they are not very voluminous. Whenever i wear mascara, they break at the top or sometimes some of the longer ones fall out. Curling works - but only for a couple of hours. I want to know if there is anything that can make them stay without making my eyelashes shorter.
