  1. diet and exercise but make sure to cut out salt as much as possible. Control your weight and stress. stay away from smoking, drugs, alcohol. walk more, do yoga, laugh a lot and treat your partner good.

  2. diet and excersise are biggies. know what your weight should be and keept it at or below that level. avoid salty foods. saturated fats and cholesterol in foods raise blood cholesterol, which increases the risk for heart disease. eat a diet rich in vegetables and whole-grain high-fiber foods. control alcohol intake. don't smoke. keep up physical activity, especially cardio. keep an eye on your blood pressure and keep a record of it. this helps determine if your current method is working or if you need more help from a doctor. experts recommend that you maintain a blood pressure lower than 140/90 mm Hg at rest. as to vitamins,  far, research has shown that potassium does lower blood pressure (yay bananas). studies have not indicated that calcium and magnesium supplements prevent high blood pressure. it is a myth that coffee/caffeine is bad for blood pressure as it is only a temporary rise. stress can make blood pressure go up for a while, and it has been thought to contribute to high blood pressure. but the long-term effects of stress are as yet unclear. stress management techniques do not seem to prevent high blood pressure. however, such techniques may have other benefits, such as making you feel better or helping you to control over-eating. tranquilizers and sedatives will not keep your blood pressure down.

  3. Yes.  It is through controlling the energy centres[chakras] which have control over whole human body.  Any disease to human body means some negativity to one of the 7 chakras existing in the human body.

There is a simple technique by which negativity to any of the said 7 chakras can be minimised and thereby the disease can be controlled.

The process is known as sahaja yoga and this is practiced in more than 120 countries around the world.

  4. Lose weight, exercise more, eat less salt.

  5. diet and exercise !

  6. Take a moderate walt for at least 30 minutes at least 3 times per week, limit, salt, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, meat and animal fats. Drink plenty of water, eat more fresh raw veggies, eat more fiber (especially water soluable fiber as in oats) meditate and get Reiki treatments. Have your doctor monitor your progress to make sure your blood pressure stays in the healthy range.

These are all healthy lifestyle choices anyway. if you do them you will find that you become healthier in many ways. It may be necessary to take the medication for a while until your body has adjusted to the changes in your lifestyle and slowly wean yourself off the meds while having your doctor regularly monitor your progress.

I have has a few clients get off of blood pressure medication and maintain healthy blood pressure this way. I have had a few who were not commited enough to making healthy choices to be able to get of the meds healthfully.

  7. People say to reduce your salt intake......I've done a LOT of research on this, and new studies have shown that reducing salt intake only helps if you of Asian descent.

  8. My grandma with high blood pressure taught me this trick. I tried it several time and it works. When you get high blood pressure, squeeze a lemon into some water or mineral water and drink it down. Within five minutes, it should drop. The more lemon, the faster it will drop.

I don't know about prevention but it's a proven way of bringing down high blood pressure fast.

  9. Apart from diet & exercise, I don't think there is a "pill-less" way to deal with high blood pressure.  I'm an advocate for natural supplements & vitamins, so if you're not into the whole prescription drug thing, I would highly recommend that.  I can hook you up with a free health assessment to see what other types of supplements you need, but here's one for blood pressure.

  14. you must have got almost all the answers above dear.i am not going to repeat the usual daadi/naani ka nuskha either but let me tell you just one thing...keep cool, love thyself and love thy neighbour...love is the best alternative to keep your blood pressure down.love..laugh..and let live. Moreover its best to consult for alternative medications e.g; homoeopathy/ayurveda/yoga etc. for that holistic cure. Best wishes:)

  15. Yes, and it can all be found at your grocery store, GNC, or Whole Foods Market.

    Supplements:

Calcium, Magnesium, Garlic, L Carnitine, L glutamic acid, L glutamine, Selenium, Co Q10, EFAs (flaxseed oil) Vitamin C, Lecithin granules and Vitamin E.

A strict salt-free diet is essential, and all animal fats (meat and dairy) must be avoided.  Broiled white fish and skinless chicken may be consumed in moderation only.  Primary protein sources should be from vegetables, grains and legumes.

Avoid all alcohol, caffeine and tobacco.

Fast for three days each month to periodically cleanse and detoxify the body.

Get regular exercise, and keep your weight down.

  16. of course :) but it usually doesn't work as well...

Cut out coffee (ALL coffee), sugar, and fried foods.

Also, get exercise, they say thirty minutes a day is the most useful....BUT make sure you breath while doing it or you're blood pressure will go up (Which is bad lol)

  17. Improving your health will likely decrease your blood pressure.  Get more active, lose a little bit of weight, eat less sugar, and seek treatment or therapy to get rid of those daily aches and pains.  Pain makes your blood pressure higher.

The most difficult thing to change is your stress level...but if there is something in your control to improve at the emotional level...it may make a significant difference in your blood pressure.
