Is there any medicine that can relieve stress?

I know natural things, such as lavender, (and I am allergic to most of them,) and I'm not looking for answers like alcohol or marijuana.

The stress is borderline anxiety/depression (which I have a recent history of) and I don't want it to get to that point again.

I am also willing to hear of anybodies relaxation methods/routines such as bathing with candles.

  1. Blackmores Executive Stress B formula tables are pretty good.

  2. The best Depression treatments are those that work. There is a wide variety of treatments for Depression and each has its own benefits and draw backs. Treatment of Depression is necessary because it is a serious illness. Without treatment it can only get worse not better.

    Psychotherapy (Depression Treatments)

This is also called counseling or talk therapy. Some approaches to it are Cognitive/Behavioral, Cognitive, Family Therapy, and psychodynamics. It can help take care of issues relating to sleep, eating, and wrong thinking. There are no known negative effects.

    Holistic Therapy (Depression Treatments)

The Holistic approach encompasses a variety of treatments. The goal of Holistic medicine is treat the whole person; mind, body, and spirit. Acupuncture, Aroma Therapy, and Chiropractic medicine are just a few of the treatments considered as Holistic. Spirituality or religious experiences can also benefit Depression. There are also no known negative issues with Holistic Therapy.

  3. If you get totally stressed all the time go to your family dr. he or she can put you meds. that will help... And yes bathing in a big tub with lots of bubbles and candles works, it does for me..... You could try listening to your favorite music,  take a walk,, talk to a friend....Or plainly lay down in a quite room and relax, take a drive in the country side....

  4. Have you tried acupuncture? It's one of the best things around for stress. And it's a real 'quick fix' too. Meaning, you go into the acupuncturist's office stressed out, and 45 minutes later you leave and you can't remember what the heck you were so stressed about in the first place. It rocks.

I've heard that Yoga is really good for stress, as well as meditation. The candle lit bath idea is great. I do it every night. Soothing music is always a nice way to relax. You'd be surprised how much different you feel internally when you turn off the rock and put on something soothing like Enya.

There's also colour therapy. Certain coloured lights can elicit emotional reactions and balance energy. I'm not sure about all the meanings, but I think blue may be relaxing.

I also have a tuning fork tuned into the "Om" vibration. That is, the tone of universe. It's pretty relaxing.

Pets also lower your stress and blood pressure. As I type this, my cat is curled up on my lap purring. It's great!

Good luck to you. And repeat after me ....Ohhhhmmmmm.....

  5. You need to take yoga classes!!! It provides meditation as well as a workout. You can use calming milk baths or vapor bath (baby asile) to relax in the bath otherwise you need to go!!! and get a massage!!!! it will work!!!
