Is there any mention of black holes in scripture?

I have heard many tell me that scientific "realities" can be found in the Bible or Koran. Where might there be mention of black holes, however symbolic?

  1. I haven't heard of physical black holes but there are some other facts from scripture proven to be true. Did you know that every culture has either in oral or written history an account of the flood or water and boat travel (Noah). Deep Sea Divers found wheels of chariots in the Dead Sea (Moses) http://www.bereanpublishers.com/Apologet...

As far as symbolic black holes go, what about Satan? He's pretty much a deep, bottom less, despairing, hole. He tries to suck others in and does everything he can to prevent their release.

  2. because the creators of the scripture don't know that a black hole exists

    man created the religious literaries

man created God in his own image

the purpose of the belief in a God is to provide quick explanation on natural events and occurences which people in the past knew (that was before, and/or maybe even in the present time), to control the human's nature to think of himself as superior and to be an arrogant and overconfident lunatic, to maintain ethics and morality for optimum human interaction (unless people have different religions), and to provide people a false hope so that they would have a reason not to quit and go on with their lives

  3. The Bible was the first written record of major ancient events such as the Big Bang theory, which is why it's still the most fascinating (and best selling) book in the world.  There is no other ancient document that describes these events accurately.  The language is "old" which explains why uneducated people don't understand it.  But it's all there: Genesis 1:2 describes Black Holes ('darkness was on the face of the deep') 3,400 years before modern science rediscovered the concept. Black Holes are so powerful that not even light can escape.  In Genesis 1:3, light escapes from the Black Hole and the universe starts to expand.   No other ancient book describes the origin of the universe.

  4. The bible is not a book of science but a book based on faith. But past the bottomless abyss somewhere in the bible no blackholes mentioned.

  5. It does mention the bottomless pit?

  6. Maybe the hole that the fictional Jesus passed through on his way to outer-space to reach heaven?

  7. Loopholes, perhaps.

  8. Some science, but not all. I don't know of any reference to black holes in the Bible, unless the "bottomless pit" that Satan and his followers get thrown into is one. Otherwise, it didn't have any immediate impact on the lives of ancient people.

  9. nope

  10. they cannot be found in any scripture.  the bible or koran were not written as science books.  in fact, much of what is stated in the bible is in deliberate contradiction of known factual science.
