what is your favorite band and why?

I'm pretty old school metal/thrash.  Maiden, Overkill and Kind Diamond are my faves.  Newer bands I like are Skeletonwitch and Early Man.

I'm old. But when I hear the Scorpions I am 16 again.

Nazareth has the same effect on my memories.

Guns N Roses...I don't know if you consider them "metal" or not.

Mainly cause they've inspired me so much and I found my passion in life through them-the guitar. I heard Slash's solos and I just couldn't stop dreaming about playing like him.

And their songs are cool. ^.^

I don't like the "new Guns N Roses", I don't even like calling them Guns N Roses

Classic metal spanning from Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Blue Oyster Cult, and Thin Lizzy to Metallica, Anthax, and Megadeth. Yes, including hair metal. Ther is not much good metal out there today, but I do like Killswitch Engage, Tool, and Airbourne. My favorite metal band is Black Sabbath because they invented the genre (along with Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and others) and seemed to personify the metal sound even if you listen to them today.
