Is there any money to be made in importing goods from the USA to the UK?

I live in the UK and i want to make some side earnings would it be economical to import small amounts of goods from the USA to the UK and sell them here (probably on ebay)

the industry to watch is the electronics market and the logistics market. both have very slow growth at themoment and are not expected to rise sharply from 2006-2011 (Datamonitor), if the logistics market competitiors start to really go "cut throat" and lower prices to beat off new competitors or old rivals, then your idea is sound and a small profit can be made, otherwise i would hold on to the pennies, there is fear of a recession (i dont believe there will be but mass hysteria has ways of damaging economies).
