There are some good restaurants in Walsall, but a short drive away into Sutton Coldfield provides other wonderful places. The link below will provide some as one reader already used. I personally went to the Four Oaks at 62 Belwell Lane and the mussels were as good as the ones I have eaten in San Francisco. There mains are really good and the place is non-smoking so you won't go home smelling like an ash tray. Another place in Mere Green is called Mother India (no license) which has two nice pubs across the street with really good ales and bitters. One of them is the Harvester, don't bother going in there.
