  1. Yes but don't go into the Military thinking you won't ever see combat.

  2. I am Intel which, according to someone above is not on the battlefield, and yet I was outside the wire quite a bit.

Within every branch you will find jobs that go outside the wire and jobs that don't.  And sometimes it's blind luck.  I saw 42Ls get grabbed up for missions when platoons were short Soldiers.

    Join the band.

  3. Sure there are.  IT, Telecom, Intelligence, Linguist, and the list goes on.

  4. Yes, there are lot's of Combat and Non Combat role's. These Non Combat role's are offered to both Men and Women. There's over 140 job's in the British Army, I would say at least half of thees aren't in Direct Combat. You should talk to an Army Recruiter for further information, they can give you booklet's describing all Military job's, both Combat and Non Combat.

  5. Do not ever believe someone when they say you will never fight. My husband is a helicopter mechanic, and they send him to fight when they need him. My brother-in-law is computer intelligence and was the captains driver.. but they made him go off and fight. So either way.. U are goin to have to fight sometime

  6. The main mission of the Army is to fight!

ALL MOS"s deploy to the battlefield!

    stay civilian!

  7. Join the military with the idea of never seeing combat?  Honestly I would rather hold a rifle then a kitchen knife.  Sure beats being bombed in the kitchen, or struck by a sniper verses kicking butt in the field and in worse cases taking some SOB with me if it came to the end.  Man up or stay away, honest not putting you down but one way or another you could end up in hot zones and trust me when I say this…

Do you want the chance of choosing your fate or just accepting it?

Just keep that in mind, hiding only gives better chances or odds of being a victim.

Honestly I would say go Air Force.  Air Force is a great for building a more tech path in your future while keeping you more hidden from what really is going on.

Also fearing combat all you want, you are still more likely in life to get struck by a drunk driver, victim of road rage, or robbed at gun point.  Hope none of the above ever happens, but it always possible to share a possible bigger picture outlook for you.

Good luck on your choices.  Military is a great place to strength up, but it is not for everyone.

  8. gwb's, and he's the chief, and he does a lousy job.
