  1. There is a wave machine (called a FlowRider) located in Republic Missouri.  Basically this machine sprays a thin sheet of water up an incline creating a continuous wave.  I went on a Royal Carribean cruise once that had one.  It doesn't really compare to surfing but it is still al lot of fun.
