What he did was a direct result of his team not being able to figure out Italy's game plan.  I doubt that the player from Italy said anything that players don't usually say to each other during a game.  Zidane is just trying to cover his *** for making a dumb mistake.

I think that Zidane is a very good player and it is a thrill to watch him play. I have never seen Zidane's anger before the 2006 World Cup final. zidane's anger was maybe because it was his last game and so he was feeling tensed.

Lol Hamilton always loses to Montreal, that's not the reason. I heard that the Italian guy told him that Ottawa was looking for a new placekicker, and as everyone knows that team went belly up at the start of this season, Z.Z. didn't take to kindly to his joke. You know in the CFL that headbutt would only be a spearing penalty and cost him 10-yards and a first down, not a silly red card.

What happenned was Materazzi pulled Zidane's shirt and Zidane said "you can have it after the game" which then the italian said "I'd rather take the shirt off your wife" then towards the end, Materazzi also added F off.        Which if you ask me I would have reacted the same.
