Yes, I bring in more than that.  many people do.  There are many opportunities out there, you just have to know where to look.  (Personally I make money by tarot readings online and freelance writing).  

There are also many opportunities through "data entry" work to make good money.  Some people people make thousands a month through it.  Filling out surveys, mystery shopping, ebay, filling out forms, making accounts for people, web promotion, typing, etc...

Don't fall for every "get rich" scheme you see.  It can take some time to get started.  But if you truly wish to work for yourself, then you should stick with it.  Don't give up.

Yes there are actually quite a few different places that I think you should look at.  You've asked for two totally different concepts for working from home.  One you asked for a home based job. Home based jobs your wages are minimum waged earnings.  After taxes your take home becomes below minimum wage.  So your probably only receive $500 a month.  Now your other part of the question on work from home businesses works differently.  They are businesses that you would own and run out of your house.  They give you the same income opportunity as a traditional business, but without all the over head expenses that the traditional businesses aqcuire.  However, you could make less than $500 if you don't work your business.  Meaning you get started in your own business, don't do anything to build it you will make zero dollars.  However, if you learn to work your business, be productive with it, and build it, you can make whatever amount you want to make.  That part is entirely up to you and what you do with your business.  There are a lot of opportunities out there.  First you need to figure out if you want an opportunity to make a real living, or do you want a minimum or low pay job.  that choice is yours.
