Is there any organization that can help me,my husband has green card, kids are citizens, I am out of status??

I was on H-4 Visa for 2 years via my ex-husband , now a U.S citizen,an abusive relationship ,he never submit my papers with him and after making shure that my visa is expired ,he send me divorce papers in the home country though I was here,I try to convert it to student visa before expiration but d/t financial problems couldn`t and I also tried to get asylum as I was very afraid by his family there ,I send the application to INS but b/c my signature was missing on one page of application they send it back to me,and I couldn`t persue it as I have to move to my aunt in another state,there she arrange for my second marriage .My present husband[also abusive] got his green card after one year of our marriage,he `ll submit his papers for citizenship after 8 months,it`s 4 1/2 yrs of marriage with two kids with him , I am out of status for 5 yrs and insisting me to wait untill he become citizen but I want to submit now as he has tell to many people about it,both ways it`s risk??please advice..

  1. There are plenty of women's affairs agencies and many lawyers will do pro-bono work in cases such as yours. You should find a councelor at a women's shelter or a church (if you attend one) and get this done ASAP. they should not be able to deport you if your shildren are citizens and are under age. DIVORCE the SOB and leave! You'll get your papers without him much faster!


  2. You're out of status but you can stay because of your children.. go find a lawyer

  3. why don't you try and go to a shelter for abused women and see if they can help you there. i assume the could help you find a way to stay here since this is where you children are. and for futeure reference always make duplicate copies for yourself so you will always have your documents

  4. With even as little as you've told, your situation is far too complicated to address here.  If it is appropriate, you may wish to contact a Catholic Relief Services office near you, or search for immigration advocates on the Internet.
