  1. a few specks of water and centrifugal adjustments.

  2. NASA experimented with taking a long wire and unraveling it.  As it orbits the Earth it is passing through the Earth magnetic field and a current is induced in the wire.  It worked for a while before it snapped.

  3. You can also have:

Solar thermal generators (Mirrors heating a working liquid, which powers a turbine)

Tethers (Produce power by moving through Earths magnetic field, but also slow the spacecraft down and make it decay)

    Fuel cells (in various forms)

    Batteries

Radiothermal generators (RTG) (Produce power by the radioactive decay of elements)

    Nuclear reactors (in various forms)

  4. Yes.

For very short missions, batteries work.

For medium-length missions we can use hydrogen-oxygen fuel cells.

For longer missions far away from the Sun, we use radioisotopic thermoelectric generators (RTGs).  These devices use heat from the natural alpha decay of plutonium to generate an electric current in a thermocouple.
