Is there any other way to increase my chance of getting into Top 10 Uni's apart from just good grades?

Ok first of all, I'm going to be in year nine...I know it sounds kind of odd to be planning but I already know what I want to be when I'm older : Criminal Barrister

I want to go to one of the top 10 uni's in England and so far in these last tests I just did I got Level 7 for Eng. and Maths and six's for everything else

So my teachers say i'm on the right track for getting A's in my A levels but is there any other thing these Uni's look for apart from good grades....Like if I started doing voluntery charity work starting from yr 10 maybe? Would that help? Or is joing some clubs out of school going to help?

Thanks x

  1. Doing things that show a great interest in your chosen subject (e.g. if you're interested in law, you can tell them in your personal statement that you read the newspaper and keep up with current events).

Write one h**l of a personal statement when you apply. This tells the university why they should pick you over others (although you may also have to do an interview that does this too).

Work experience in the field of your chosen career.
