  1. If your ferret isnt sleeping threw the night maybe you need to change play time to a few hours before bed.

Make sure he/she has at least 4 hours of out of cage time a day. In your case make it the 4 hours right before you would like to sleep. Make sure you have a hammoack in the cage. Also make sure the food and water in full and fresh. Place a sheet over the cage. You can leave a hole for him/her to look out or just cover the whole thing. If this doesnt work maybe you need to place the cage in another room.

  2. Ferrets are crepuscular creatures, not nocturnal.  Since you are keeping your ferret in your bedroom, do you frequent your bedroom often?  IF you are spending all day away from your ferret and only showing up at bedtime of course your ferret is going to scratch to get out.  He hasn't seen you all day, misses you, and wants to play with you!

You are really going to have to start spending more time with your furbeast.  Let him out to play more then 3 hours of the day.

It never hurt to know more about the animal that you own:  http://www.ferretuniverse.com

  3. Its what they do, they are nocturnal.  If possible move the cage.  I had a ferret for 8 years.  she did the night scratching until i started playing with her right before bed.  then she would sleep most of the night.
